When to choose it, and when not to
Choose printed tissue when you want the first thing seen on opening a box to be yours, not the product. It is the cheapest single change to an unboxing. A logo repeat on white tissue over a folded shirt, kraft tissue with a one color mark around a candle, a color that matches the box inside a gift bag. It works in mailers, cartons, rigid boxes and every bag we produce, and it hides the product until the sticker is broken.
Choose a belly band when the item is a single box that needs holding shut rather than wrapping, because tissue does not close anything on its own. Choose a die-cut paperboard insert when the product must not move in transit, since tissue adds nothing to protection.

Questions people ask
What size sheet do I need?
A sheet should be about twice the box length plus twice the box height, and the same across, so it can fold fully over the product. For a 10 by 8 by 4 inch box that is about 28 by 24 inches, so the 24 by 36 sheet works. For a 6 by 4 by 2 box the 15 by 20 sheet is right.
Will the ink rub off on my product?
No. Water-based flexo ink dries into the fiber and does not transfer onto fabric, glass or card at normal coverage. We keep pattern coverage under about 30 percent for this reason. If you want a solid color tissue, use a dyed stock tissue rather than printed, and we hold a dozen colors.
Can I print a repeat pattern and a logo?
Yes. The usual build is a small logo repeated on a diagonal grid at 3 to 4 inches, which reads as a pattern from a distance and as a logo up close. A second color lets you add a second element. A placed single logo per sheet is also possible but wastes more paper when cut.
Is 17 gsm the only weight?
17 gsm is the standard weight. It folds soft and does not crackle. 22 gsm is available for wrapping heavier goods like ceramics, where a little more body helps, and it takes ink slightly better. Below 17 gsm the tissue tears at the press.
Do you fold it to my box?
Standard delivery is flat sheets in reams of 250, and a sheet folds to your box in a few seconds at the packing bench. If you want sheets pre-folded to a specific box size, ask with your quote and we will confirm whether that can be done on your order.
What is the minimum order for a custom tissue paper?
200 sheets, and reorders carry the same minimum. Lead time is 10 to 12 business days after you approve the free digital proof.
Custom tissue paper or custom wrapping paper: which should I choose?
Tissue paper wraps directly around a product inside the box; wrapping paper covers the outside of a standalone gift. For branded unboxing (a logo repeat inside a mailer, kraft tissue folded over a shirt, color tissue inside a rigid box) use custom tissue paper. It hides the product at the moment of opening, costs less per sheet, and is the standard finish for apparel, candles and beauty brands. For a product the customer wraps themselves without a box, use custom wrapping paper.
Custom tissue paper or crinkle cut filler: which should I choose?
They do different jobs. Crinkle cut filler fills space between the product and the box walls and cushions in transit. Tissue paper wraps over the product and creates the reveal when the box is opened; it adds nothing to protection. Many brands use both: crinkle filler on the bottom, product on top, tissue folded over, sticker closed. If your product is fragile and needs cushioning, add crinkle filler. If you want a branded first impression at the moment of opening, add tissue paper.
