What a dieline is, in one minute
A dieline is the flat drawing of a box before it is folded: where the knife cuts, where the board creases, where the glue goes, and where your artwork has to stop. Designers work on top of it so the logo lands on the front panel and not across a fold. There is a longer walkthrough in our dieline guide.
Templates versus production dielines
These templates are exact enough to size a box and lay out artwork. A production dieline also carries the converter's own flap, lock and glue details for the board it runs, which is why we draw one for every order and send it with a free digital proof. Minimum order is 200 units.
