Bag topper

14pt C1S board, fold-over header500 minimum · 6 to 8 business days

A bag topper is a fold-over header card that clips, staples, or heat-seals to the top of a poly or cello bag, turning a plain flat bag into something that hangs on a pegboard hook for retail display. We produce them on 14pt C1S board from 500 units, ready in about 6 to 8 business days after proof.

When to choose it, and when not to

Choose a bag topper when you're already bagging product in plain poly or cello and need a low-cost way to add branding, pricing, and a hang hole for pegboard retail without switching to a fully printed bag.

Choose a fully printed bag instead if branding across the entire bag face matters more than cost, since a topper only carries print on the small header card and the bag body itself stays unprinted.

Questions people ask

Which attachment method should I pick, staple or heat-seal?

It depends on your bagging line. A staple is the simplest and works by hand or with a basic stapler, while heat-seal needs a sealing tool but gives a cleaner tamper-resistant finish. Tell us how you're filling bags and we'll recommend the right one.

Will the topper fit a bag I'm already sourcing elsewhere?

Yes, toppers are sized to your bag's width independent of where the bag itself comes from. Send us your bag's dimensions and we'll size the fold to match.

Can I print a barcode and price on the topper?

Yes, a barcode, price, and any required retail information print the same as any other artwork element on the card.

Is the hang hole sized for standard pegboard hooks?

Yes, the die-cut hole is sized to a standard pegboard or slatwall hook. If your retail fixtures use a different hook size, let us know.

Do you supply the bags too, or just the topper?

We can quote the bags as a separate line item alongside the topper if you want both from one source, or you can keep sourcing bags elsewhere and just order toppers.

What's the minimum if I only need toppers for one small product line?

500 units is our minimum for this format. It's a low-cost item, so even a first run at that minimum tends to be an easy add-on to an existing bag order.

How is a bag topper different from a blister card?

The bag topper is a fold-over header on 14pt C1S that clips, staples or heat-seals across the top of a poly or cello bag, turning a plain bag into a peg item, from 500 units in 6 to 8 business days after proof. A blister card is a full 18pt C1S backer coated to heat-seal a molded plastic blister, from 1,000 units in 8 to 10 business days. Bagged goods like candy, treats or small parts suit the topper; a product that needs to be locked in place and seen suits the blister card.
